I was the only person out of ~50 who wasn’t there for Destiny. People kept trying to talk to me about that game, and I’m just sitting there like they’re speaking French.
On the plus side, being the only one there for Forza meant the employees remembered me easily and got me out the door right at midnight without needing to see my receipt or anything.

Definitely been in similar situations before. Now if I need a new game I just have the wife call her friend who is a manager at a Gamestop. Then she brings it over for me. Easier than the interwebs.

I mean, I’m not unsullied of neckbeardism or anything. I have played the game, though I haven’t done the two other expansions yet, and I’m aware what the expansion is and does. It’s just... going to a store? Fallout 4, sure. Destiny expansion... wat.

I would fire up the PS2 and start a new game out of it, but I’d be worried the dust collected over the last half-decade might blow out and suffocate me and the dog.

Some people prefer a physical hard copy of game. Plus its less agraivating the Xbox marketplace or whatever.

All true, but I wasn’t sure that the expansion was actually releasing on disc, and it would have to install to HD anyway. Paying money for a code or a use-once download-off-of disc, probably with a code itself, for a game *add-on* that requires the kind of internet to play that makes downloading a triviality...
Maybe they just want the box/card/whatchamacallit on their shelf.

My GameStop started handing games out at 11 local time. Showed up at 11:30 and the place was empty. In and out in 5 minutes.

There was a collector’s edition and an admittedly awesome-looking PS4 bundle for it, too. Still, more than half of the people there were just buying the base expansion, so I dunno.

Eh, it’s not so much to get the game (thanks to pre-orders) as it is to just have it as soon as possible. Especially with a download like the one that comes with the console bundle, I wanted to get it started ASAP so that I’d have it ready today.
